JOEY STONE
Joey Stone has worked in arts education at private and public schools here in Chicago for over a decade and is excited and honored to bring his experience to the family here at Congo Square! As an actor, his credits include What To Send Up When It Goes Down with Congo at Lookingglass Theatre and the first national tours of Motown the Musical and Mrs. Doubtfire the Musical, as well as Motown on Broadway. As a designer, he most recently served as Movement Director for the world premiere of Chlorine Sky at Steppenwolf Theater directed by Congo Artistic Director, Ericka Ratcliff.
During the pandemic, Joey co-produced/directed The Color Purple Audio Experience: A Benefit for Black Womxn an original audio adaptation of the Tony-award-winning musical based on the novel by Alice Walker featuring an international cast of performers raising nearly $100K for Black femme artists and organizations around the world.
