Alexandria Moorman

Alexandria Moorman feels beyond blessed to be making her CST debut in What to Send Up When It Goes Down. She is an actor, writer, educator, poet and improviser who has performed all around Chicago including Second City, The Den Theatre, iO, MPAACT, The Annoyance, Chopin Theatre among others. She’s collaborated and created original work with The MCA, The Haitian American Museum and UN Women Chicago. She enjoys being a teaching artist with Victory Gardens, Mudlark Theatre, GreatWorks and believes that education and equity is essential to progress. She’s an Artist Board member and Development Coordinator with Chicago Artist Guide NFP, whose mission is to diversify Chicago theater. CAG is creating an online platform to enable a more equitable, accessible way for diverse artists, and crew to connect directly with theatre companies while removing systemic barriers in auditioning, casting and hiring. Film credits include: How to Re-caulk Your Tub dir. Sean Pierce and story by Alexandria Moorman won the Audience Award at Chicago’s Elevated Film Fest and Best Intl. Short at the Calgary Underground Film Fest. Her performance in Mid 30s Martyr dir. Eliaz Rodriguez garnered her several nominations and ultimately, the Director’s Choice Best Actress Award at the Austin Revolution Film Fest. The film also won Best Micro Short during its world premiere screening at the ME Film Fest in Georgia. Both films are available to stream online.
